So where would you like to visit during your holiday in Cornwall
The whole of the county is accessible with ease from Summercourt. You choose coast or country, make each day different from boats, planes, to trains, historic castles a festival or to visiting beautiful gardens on country estates. There are many coastal walks and wonderful beaches, and a lot of them permit dogs all year round if you have one.
We have St Michaels Mount, the Eden Project, Minack Theatre, Tate Gallery at St Ives, Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay, the Screech Owl Sanctuary, Newquay Zoo, go down into the Geevor Tin Mine or maybe visit the Bodmin to Wenford Steam Railway on one of your days out. You can even fly to the Scilly Isles.
For the energetic there is plenty of opportunity to try out surfing at Newquay and Perranporth. Polzeath is another good spot. How about having a go at coasteering or scuba diving. Another sport, body boarding or even paddle boarding. The choice goes on. Gone are the days when you just took a towel and had a dip!
Cycling is another sport or relaxing hobby. Lots of tourist now bring their own bikes with them, but there are places to hire one if preferred. One beautiful trail is the Wadebridge to Padstow disused railway track (The Camel Trail) and is practically level. You get to see views of the estuary, or cycle from Wadebridge towards Bodmin inland away from the coast. Bissoe cycle path which starts at Portreath through to Deveron is approximately 14 miles in length. This is hilly in parts and passes old mining areas but is now a nature reserve. Another to try is the Pentewan Trail that runs from St Austell to Mevagissey which partly follows the St Austell River through woodland, where you can stop off and visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
