In our unspoilt village here at Summercourt, which forms part of the civil parish of St Enoder, we have a local convenience store that includes the post office and a florist. Across the road from our site is a great cafe called True Cornish open Mon – Sat 6 days a week great for cooked breakfast, paninis cakes tea & coffee.
Our nearest pub is the London Inn which is situated in the centre of the village, a cosy warm and friendly place, just a few minutes walk along the road from the site. This was originally an old coaching inn, where one would stop for horses to rest or see the smithy, today people go and try different local ales and beers, or enjoy a nice lunch or evening meal. They also serve a roast dinner on Sundays.
Surrounding the village are numerous country lanes that you can cycle, enjoy a pleasant stroll or exercise your dog. Why not visit our neighbouring village Mitchell, where another pub to visit is the Plume of Feathers and their excellent restaurant. For keen gardeners, why not visit the Cornish Rose Company there and buy one as a gift, or treat yourself to one of the gorgeous shrubs.
At Fraddon, another village approximately three minutes away by car northwards along the A30, on the left-hand side, is a Next store and adjoining it, is a Starbucks coffeehouse, TK Mexx, Mountain Wearhouse Boots and a Marks & Spencer store. Nearby in the same road is the Penhale Round Cookhouse & Pub and a McDonalds.
